Salary: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour; 30 hours/week (8-2, M-F, with some flexibility)

This is not a remote role.
Summary
Oversees daily operations of Meals on Wheels South Texas’ Connection Café dining room and congregate dining program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain friendly, positive, welcoming environment.
Ensure dining room cleanliness and safety.
Implement recreational and educational programs and activities.
In coordination with kitchen staff, responsible for daily lunch service: including set up, service, and clean-up of the dining area.
Handle crisis situations in a calm and professional manner, taking appropriate action.
Manage participant behavior; enforce agency behavior standards.
Maintain reservation system for participants.
Perform client assessments and outcome evaluations.
Daily and monthly record keeping and reporting.
Communicate openly, effectively, and timely with Operations Director, Program Manager, Executive Chef, Executive Director, and other agency staff.
Assist Programs Manager in developing and coordinating community partnerships and resources for educational, recreational, and socialization programming.
Regular, punctual attendance is essential function of the position.
Perform other duties as assigned or as they become apparent.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to relate well in-person with seniors seeking service.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and provide culturally competent services.
Ability to maintain client and agency confidentiality.
Ability to learn and operate various software and database programs.
Must pass required criminal background check.
Prior experience working with public required; experience working with seniors desired.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher, preferred.
First aid/CPR and food handlers certifications, or ability to take and pass within 30 days of hire.
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Work is performed in a dining room environment that may be noisy and have frequent interruptions.
Employee will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. Employee will also sit, bend, twist, climb, and squat while performing duties.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability required to frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
