It takes the efforts of many dedicated people, employees, and volunteers, to provide the services Meals on Wheels South Texas provides to help our older and disabled neighbors live independently in their homes.
We provide limited benefits to both full and part-time employees: paid time off (vacation and sick leave), and paid holidays.

About Our Benefits
We offer a competitive benefits package to full-time employees.
Healthcare benefits activate one month into your employment. We currently offer PPO and HMO options through Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas. Dental is through Principal; vision through EyeMed; and mental health through Magellan/BCBSTX. Life Insurance is provided as well.
Meals on Wheels South Texas uses Betterment for our 401k matching. The benefit activates after your 90-day probationary period. We will match contributions 1:1 up to 3% of your salary at 1:2 at 4% and 5% contribution.
Paid Time Off
PTO is accrued after your 90-day probationary period. First-year employees can earn up to 15 days that first year. Employees who stay 2-4 years earn up to 20 days; 5-9 years, 25 days; and so forth.
Employees are encouraged to eat lunch together. We serve staff the same meals prepared by the kitchen; it's free for all members of staff, and it helps us ensure we're only sending out the best meals, because we eat it, too. While we appreciate staff eating together, we encourage you to also enjoy the break and chat freely. Colleagues may discuss work, but lunch is by no means a meeting.
