Dan Capone's involvement with Meals on Wheels South Texas began in 2011 when he and his children volunteered as Friday delivery drivers on what is now the Midtown route. In 2016 he made the leap from volunteer to Executive Director. He brings with him a passion for helping people, a background orchestrating organizational change gathered across a variety of contexts, and a focus on client experience as a decision driver. At Meals on Wheels South Texas, he has worked to increase program efficiency and effectiveness. In April 2019 he joined the board of Meals on Wheels Texas, and in 2021 he was elected to a two-year term as president.
Director of Administrative Services
Diana Alarcon joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in April 2012. as an assistant in the front office. She has occupied a number of roles at the agency. As Director of Administrative Services, she assists in the management and day-to-day administration of the agency’s programs. She manages, and oversee daily operations of Mobile Meals program, she assists in the recruitment and placement of required staff; establishment of organizational structure; delegation of tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise and coach staff. Oversee daily data collection, file management, and accurate and timely reporting to funding sources.
Hector Hurtado joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in March 2021 as a cook. In April 2023 he was moved into the role of kitchen manager. Where he is responsible for the kitchen and food preparation for all our meal programs.
Director of Program Services
Kim Perez joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in February 2022. as our Connection Café Coordinator. She has occupied a number of roles at the agency. As Director of Program Services, she Coordinate, manage, and oversee client services and programs. Assist in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices to ensure the delivery of quality services and positive financial and client outcomes. Initiate and set goals for programs according to strategic objectives of agency. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in business management.
Ivana Resendiz joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in October 2022. She graduated from University of Houston-Victoria with the goal of helping local communities. Her background demonstrates a passion for helping others and making a difference. As the Volunteer Coordinator, she oversees volunteer recruitment.
Tina Doggett joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in June 2019. After working 10 years in dietary at Cuero Regional Hospital and nursing homes, she wanted a change. Now you can catch her answering phones in the office and dispatching drivers for transportation needs.
Jenny Herrera has been part of Meals on Wheels South Texas since March 2020 when she began as a delivery driver in June 2021 she was promoted to client intake coordinator.
Programs Services Assistant
Tina Kelley began working at Meals on Wheels South Texas in September 2022. She started as the Cafe Coordinator and now assists with programs services.
